4 Reasons You Need a Small Business Website

Websites

When you started your online business, you probably started with the bare minimum (which makes total sense). After all, you’re trying to make money – not bankrupt yourself before you even start. 😅 But after a while, I bet you wondered if you should have a website for your small business. Does it really matter? And is it worth the cost? Let’s talk about why you should invest in a website for your small business.

Why You Need a Small Business Website

As an online business or entrepreneur, you’ve probably wondered if a website is really necessary. (Psst…it is!) There are four reasons you should consider investing in a website.

#1 You Can Grow Your Email List

Email marketing is a powerful way to market your business. However, growing your email list takes time, and you need to promote your lead magnets anywhere and everywhere. Your website is the perfect place to do just that. You can use pop-ups, add your lead magnet to your footer, create a freebies page, and more.

Not to mention, your website will house your blog as well. Blogging is one of the best ways to grow your email list because people across the internet can stumble across your blog – and then subsequently find the freebie that you embed or link inside the blog.

(Psst, not sure what email platform to use? Flodesk and Convertkit are my favorite!)

#2 Sell Your Products

Your website also serves as another way to make sales. If you are currently dependent on a marketplace like Etsy or TPT to make sales, what happens if that site becomes unavailable? Or if your products are not coming up in a search? With your own store, you control your resources and can even utilize SEO to help your products be found via a Google Search.

#3 Become Searchable

Without a website, it can be really hard for people to find your small business online. Canva sites and other DIY websites are not searchable, so they can’t find you through a quick Google Search. 😨 That means you miss out on opportunities to warm up your audience, get your audience on your email list, and promote your offers.

#4 Establish Trust

I don’t know about you, but when I stumble across a small business without a website, my trust wavers. Without a website, it’s hard to learn about a business or explore products or pricing. How do I know if they are legit? Where can I contact them? Where are their reviews? What is their return policy? A website can help address all these concerns, so without it – people will naturally hesitate.
