3 Opt-In Page Examples to Inspire You

Business

Email marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business. (I mean, have you seen the engagement rates compared to social media. đŸ€Ż) But people are hesitant to share their email address nowadays, which means your landing page has to give them a compelling reason to sign up. I’m sharing some opt-in page examples plus tips to help you create an effective landing page that grows your list.

Create a Compelling Landing Page

It’s not enough to offer someone a freebie. Buyers are a lot savvier. They know that by typing in their email address, you’ll be sending them emails (and their inbox is already busting at the seams đŸ« ). If you want someone to join your email list, you’ll need some essential elements on your landing page.

I’m sharing some opt-in page tips below, along with opt-in page examples to show you what it looks like in action!

#1 Benefit-Focused Headline

Remember when I said it’s not enough to offer a freebie? Skip the “Free 5th Grade Task Cards Headline” and instead share the benefit of what they’ll receive. Take the opt-in page example below. Instead of saying, “Grab the free tutorial,” I said, “Launch Your E-commerce Shop Easier with this Tutorial”. The benefit is what makes the freebie appealing.

#2 Short, Sweet Description

I see this mistake a lot! Business owners skip the description altogether, or their description describes what will happen when they join their email list, versus what the freebie includes. You’ll have more conversions on your opt-in page when you share what’s included and how it helps.

#3 Eye-Catching Visuals

People want to know what they’re getting! Include a mockup, preview image, or video of the freebie to make it feel tangible – and help people decide if it’s something worth downloading. Check out the opt-in page example below with my Canva mockup.

#4 Simple Opt-In Form

Signing up for your email list should be easy. Ditch the long forms and overly complicated questions. Instead, stick to collecting the basic information, like the subscriber’s name and email. I’ve also seen people ask for Instagram handles and demographic information (like grade level). However, I wouldn’t include more than three boxes for subscribers to fill out.

#5 Social Proof

Landing pages with social proof see a boost in conversions! It’s proof that even when something is free, people need a reason to take action. Screenshot emails and DMs where people have shared positive feedback about your opt-in. Then, pop them onto your landing page and watch the subscribers roll in. 😎

#6 Branded Design

You knew I was going to include this. 😉 As a website designer, I know the power of a solid brand. Keeping your colors, fonts, and vibe consistent across your landing pages doesn’t just look great, it creates a seamless experience and builds brand recognition. Hopefully, you’ve seen from the opt-in page examples across this blog post that I keep my branding consistent!

Opt-In Page Templates and Design

Want support creating your landing page? I have a couple of options. 😊

You can also pass off your landing page design with a Designer Day! This is great for business owners who want a custom opt-in page without the headache. I’ll create your mock-up, write your copy, design your landing page, and customize it to your branding. You don’t have to lift a finger. đŸ’đŸ»â€â™€ïž

And if you’re more of a DIY-er, I’ve got something exciting coming soon just for you — a customizable template to jumpstart your opt-in page design. Stay tuned!
