When you stumble onto a website that is messy, loads slowly, or is difficult to navigate, you probably don’t stick around for long. A user-friendly website may not be the first thing on your mind when creating a site, but it’s essential to making sales, converting clients, and increasing traffic!
Let’s talk about four ways you can make a user friendly website and enhance the experience for potential customers.
This blog post includes affiliate links. I earn a small percentage of sales made through these links. Affiliate links are indicated by an asterisk (*).
The notification bar is the bar at the very top of your website that contains some type of announcement. You can display special offers, sales, or freebies, and it can be changed as often as you want.
You can have a more user friendly website by displaying your most asked about offers or special sales. This helps potential clients and customers quickly and easily find what they need. (And let’s be real – we are all in a rush these days! Why not get what you need and get out?)
For WordPress websites, you can use the plugin Sticky Menus to set up the notification bar. And if you’d rather leave the task for the experts, I can complete the navigation bar as one of my Quick Tasks!
Creating a user friendly website and growing your email list? Sign me up! 🙋🏻♀️ By having all of your freebies in one place, you’re visitors won’t have to travel far to access all your wisdom and expertise. I recommend using the Essential Grid* or Elementor* plugin for your freebie library. You can also pass the task to me, and I’ll set up your entire library during a VIP Day!
This freebie library is password protected, so subscribers only get access once they sign up for your email list. Flodesk* and Convertkit* are great platforms for building your email list, if you’re looking to get started.
Let’s face it, our world grows more and more visual by the day. Easily create a user friendly website by having a “scannable” navigation bar that includes icons. This is also perfect for increasing your website’s accessibility and bringing in more brand elements.
You can add these icons to your navigation, display on your homepage, in your sidebar, and in other locations across your website. I like to use Essential Grid* and Menu Image for adding icons.
Want completely customized icons? During a VIP Day, I can set up your icon menu and create icons specifically for your businesses!
Sell products directly from your website with an ecommerce shop. These products can be displayed throughout your website, on the homepage, within blog posts, on the sidebar, and more. This helps create a user friendly website because it decreases the amount of pages your visitor has to travel to.
You also have complete control over your categories, tags, marketing, coupons, and more. Personally, I love using WooCommerce for WordPress websites. I can completely set up your shop for you and add products, or I can record a personalized tutorial for you with my new VIP services for Shop Setups.
