Five Things for January 5th, 2018

Happy New Year! After a couple weeks of hustling for my design clients, I took this week off and it’s been amazing to catch up on life in general.

1. Cuba has been sick like all of December, I swear.

Cuba got sick the week after we got back from our annual Seaside trip and couldn’t keep anything in for about a week. We finally decided it was time to get her checked out and ran her up to the vet where they had to admit her and hook her up to hydration for a few hours. Poor thing. We came home with a little happier dog with medicine to help keep everything in and more solid (I’m avoiding using gross words, HA!) After a few days she was getting back together but still had to wear a cone to keep her from trying to get at her behind. She was even sick on her first birthday, which I wanted to celebrate in a big way, but we will probably celebrate later!

She is feeling all the way better now even though we did have a scare on Monday with her getting a bug bite (or so they say) and her going into anaphylactic shock. We had to rush her to the 24 hour pet hospital that night. Thank god for that place! Thankfully, they were able to get her back to her normal self. Now, everything seems to be back to normal and we have our puppy back in normal high spirits.

2. Breakfast Pizza or Pie? Low carb living start now!

Jonathan and I are jumping back into eating low carb after a busy holiday season full of delish food. We both feel better when we cut out carbs and sugar so it’s the best decision for our household. I purchased this low carb cookbook & meal plan and got to work on January 1st on meal planning and prep for this week. One of the recipes in the book that we absolutely love is this Breakfast Pizza, that we both agree should be called Breakfast Pie.

3. New Years at home: PJs and no makeup.

We have given up on going out on New Years Eve instead trading in for making a nice dinner at home, staying in our PJs and catching up on our shows. What do you do on NYE to celebrate?

4. 2018 Bullet Journal with January Intentions!

Been working on my 2018 Bullet Journal and decided to use every month to set intentions for myself. It’s just a few things that I want to personally work on in my life to create a better me. You can see more on my bullet journal pages on Instagram.

5. Blog Prepping & New Recipes Coming soon.

Today I worked on blog post ideas, writing them all out. Tomorrow I’ll get to scheduling everything out for the year. I’m trying to be very intentional with my posting this year and achieve some personal posting goals, so I’m looking forward to sharing more here on Laugh Eat Learn. This includes some very tasty (mostly low carb) recipes! If you have any ideas you would like to see, let me know!
