Today I’m sharing my favorite classroom management tool and a freebie for you! Back to school is a little different for me this year because, for the first time in 5 years, I’m not in a “traditional” classroom anymore. I haven’t decided yet if Class Dojo will work with my older ELL students but it’s still something I stand completely behind as a huge classroom management tool. I’ve used Class Dojo in my classroom for my first four years of teaching, with Kinders to 4th Graders, and every single one of them loved it.

Let’s introduce Dojo to our student’s parents!
If you have never used Class Dojo, you have to check it out, what are you waiting for?! It’s free and easy! Teachers love the data it creates, students love the adorable dojo monsters and parents love the communication tools. This is a great resource to bring that home to school connection alive. I wrote more about how it ran in my previous classroom here including my use of Dojo Dollars and Dojo Store.

At the beginning of the year I send home
a copy of this parent letter so I can get the parents involved as well. It makes everything easier when the parents are on board as well! All they have to do is fill it out and send it back. You are able to enter their emails (multiple emails too for each child!) from your account so there is nothing more the parents need to do.

So, do you dojo? What’s your favorite thing about class dojo or the classroom management tool you use in your room? I hope that if you’re a old timer like me or a newbie Dojo’er you will find
this letter useful in your classroom! It’s editable so you can add whatever you need to fit the needs of your classroom. If you have enjoyed this post and want to share this with a teacher friend, pin the image above!

Thanks so much for the Class Dojo letter for families. I’m going to give it a try this year in my classroom of 5th graders!

You’re welcome!! Good luck!
Class Dojo is the best! I just started using it last year for behavior but I mostly like it for the communication.

The communication aspect is so helpful when chatting with parents!
How do we get on Class Dojo with out our email and stuff

I’m not exactly sure what you are asking, but I think Class Dojo requires an email to sign in. I would double check with them and on their website.
You can also use telephone numbers, hope this helps.
