When hiring someone to tackle a big project in your business, it can feel a bit like a “trust fall”. 😨 As a web designer for WordPress, my clients are making a big investment – and they want to see a beautiful end product to show for it. Luckily, I always deliver on my promises 😉
If you are thinking about hiring a web designer for WordPress, I want to give you a peek into my process and timeline for my two week website intensives!
So, you’re ready to hire a web designer for WordPress. Congrats! 🎉
To initiate the process, you will fill out the Work with Me form on my website. I’ll ask about your goals for your website, the problems you are facing, your budget, and your ideal timeline for the project.
After you submit your inquiry, I will get back to you within 48 hours. If we are a good fit, we will book a discovery call and chat for 30 minutes about the project. I’ll collect some additional info about your project.
Then, I’ll talk a bit about the process. You’ll probably hear me talk about how I’m a perfectionist who wants to get things just right. And I’ll definitely talk about the importance of collaboration and teamwork!
Next, you’ll pick a two week time frame when you are available and can team up to accomplish your web design. It’s best if you’re not on vacation or have a particularly heavy schedule.
To solidify the date, you’ll sign a contract and make a 30% deposit! The remaining balance is due one week before the project begins.
As you anxiously wait for your project to begin, you’ll work on your homework! It is pretty detailed, I won’t lie. But it ensures I have everything I need to complete your project to perfection. I will also get you set up in Asana.
The Thursday before your two week intensive begins, we will meet on Zoom for a 1 hour call. During this time, we will make sure everything is ready to go! I’ll review your homework and make sure we are logged into all the platforms.
On Monday, your project will begin. 🎉
During this time, I’m putting all my WordPress web designer skills to use 😉 The bulk of the work happens in this stage. On Adobe XD, I’ll mock up your website. I might reach out via Asana or text you along the way with questions or to get your opinion on something.
By the end of the week, you’ll have your first draft! Over the weekend, you’ll look over the draft and provide tons of feedback. This is super important!
The second week will focus on finetuning your website. We will do lots of back-and-forth chatting to make sure everything is as you envisioned it.
On Thursday, we will meet again for a Launch Training Call! During this time, I’ll walk you through your live website, teach you how to make changes, and navigate your dashboard. You’ll walk away a pro at your brand-new site!
Lastly, you have one week of post-launch support. Maybe you noticed something funky with your website later or what a question about navigating your dashboard – I am happy to help! The website intensive can be a busy week, so I always encourage my clients to get live with the website for a few days and get familiar with their new home base.
