How to Grow Your Business Online in 2024

Business

someone typing on a keyboard about how to grow your business online

Entrepreneurs are brave people! When you started your business, you took a leap of faith. And unless you went to business school, you always walked into a whole new world of marketing and sales that you hadn’t experienced before. Whether you’re in your first year of business or your tenth, you’ve likely wondered at some point how to grow your business online and reach those lofty goals you’ve set for yourself.

I recently celebrated my tenth year in business, and I want to share some tips I’ve learned on how to grow your business online. 🥳

#1 Collaborate with Other Businesses

Never underestimate the power of collaboration in business. Collaborations come in many shapes and sizes, from guesting on a podcast, doing a social media takeover, or being a part of a conference. These opportunities can get you in front of new people and establish trust with your audience.

Collaboration helps you grow your business because it builds awareness of your brand, builds a positive reputation of your business, and helps with word-of-mouth marketing.

#2 Join Niche Memberships

There are tons of general business groups and memberships out there, but I have found the most success in niche-specific groups. When you’re surrounded by people in a similar niche, you can support each other through specific challenges and seek advice from those who *get it*. Having a place to turn for support can help you grow your business online.

Your niche can be anything from the audience you serve, the type of products you create, or your specific role in your business. For example, I’ve been brainstorming a community for online business owners looking to grow! While I’m ironing out the details, you can join the waitlist and get additional details as they come out!.

#3 Ask Other Business Owners

If you want to know how to grow your business online, ask those who have been there, done that. 😉 Learning from those with more experience or skills than you is one of the quickest ways to grow your business because you can skip all the fluff and get into the nitty-gritty of what you want to know.

Ask someone you admire if they’d be okay answering a few questions or if you can pay them for a 1:1 chat. I offer 45-minute and 90-minute Pick My Brain sessions where we can talk about WordPress, branding, blogging, email marketing, and more!

#4 Build a Reputation

I touched on this with networking, but building a positive reputation of your business has major benefits. Imagine being the brand someone recommends to their friends or co-workers. That all comes from reputation.

If you’re a product-based business, make sure your client experience is top tier, from a reliable website to products that WOW! 😮 If you’re a service-based business, make sure your clients have a solid experience from onboarding to offboarding and consider establishing referral partners for word-of-mouth marketing.

At some point, you’ve wondered how to grow your business online, and the good news is that it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes, the best growth strategies happen offline or away from social media.

Wish you had a community of like-minded business to chat with? I’m dreaming up a place where you can network, collaborate, and have an expert in your corner (that’s me!). I’m still ironing out the details, but you can join the waitlist and be the first to receive updates!
