I’m sharing with you today my classroom’s February art project to be displayed in the hallway. I was very inspired by the artwork I posted on my February Favorites. I love doing art in the classroom and having students work together to achieve the same end goal. These handprint art projects came out better than expected!

There were only a few rules when making these hand hearts with my kiddos:
- You must work with a partner to trace each others hands.
- You have to outline your hands and hearts with a black marker.
- You can only use one color in each section of the art work (clearly, some didn’t follow these directions if you look below and see all the Seahawks themed ones!)
- Your heart is the only part you can design anyway you want with multi-colors.
I let my kids choose their medium, setting out markers, crayons, colored pencils and pastels. Most gravitated towards markers because I never let them use them! I’m thinking may next year I’ll give it a try with water colors and crayons!
After they completed their heart hands, they were to follow up with telling me what love is in their life. Another way could have been how you show love, which is what my team mate did after brainstorming with her kids. If you are wanting to do this in your classroom, make sure to grab the freebie!
