In the midst of all our test prep, I decided my kids need an afternoon of art. I’m a huge component of watercolor in the classroom so I decided these 3-D flowers were a great idea. It’s easy to set up, beautiful and best of all, EASY to clean! All you need for this project is 3 sheets of white paper per student, watercolor, crayons, scissors and glue.
Each child was to use crayons and watercolor to cover the entirety of the 2 sheets of paper. I encourage them to use patterns and many colors. The third sheet is the background and was only suppose to be painted with one color with minimal patterns.
I told my kiddos I wanted their flowers to pop off the backgrounds. After all three papers dry. I model cutting different shapes of petals and creating the center of your circle. After that, students are free to cut, layer and glue on the pedals. I also showed them how to bend the paper to make sure it’s popping off the paper. They turned out beautiful and each one is very unique!!
This art project is super cool! Thank you for sharing it with us! … I love your blog!
I’m so glad you love this!! :]
