Special Spaghetti Sauce

Recipes

This is the recipe of my special spaghetti sauce I made multiple times during the summer, mostly for my camping trips, it's easy to make and re-heat out there!

This is the recipe of my special spaghetti sauce I made multiple times during the summer (mostly for my camping trips, it’s easy to make and re-heat out there!). So far, I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on this mixture of goodness! It’s easy to set and forget as well as make extra and save for a later time!

This is my go to recipe for any pasta meal I make! It's a perfect sauce for any pasta you choose (even zucchini noodles). You can choose what type of ground meat you would like in this tasty and savory spaghetti sauce.
Ready to make an amazing sauce? Pin it to save!

Like I said above, this recipe is a real crowd pleaser. I usually make enough to feed a crowd and some leftover to freeze for next time. If you don’t have ground turkey, you can easily swap out for chicken, or beef. It really is a flexible start to any meal!

Special Spaghetti Sauce
Author:

Ingredients
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb. ground turkey (could easily be ground beef!)
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fennel seed
  • 1 cup fresh basil (or 2 tbsp dried)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (if needed)
Instructions
  1. Chop up tomatoes and green bell peppers, set aside.
  2. Dice onions and garlic, set aside.
  3. Heat up olive oil on medium high heat. Add onions, garlic and a little salt. Cook until soft.
  4. Add turkey meat to the pot and brown meat.
  5. Once meat is brown, add the chopped ingredients and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and fennel seed (add dried basil now if you are using it). Cool on medium heat for a while (hour or two), just set it and forget it! You want all the ingredients soft, the tomatoes will pop and begin to make your sauce. If you need it saucier, add the plain tomato sauce to the mixture.
  6. Begin your pasta or let the sauce cool before storing/freezing it! Add basil leaves at the end if using fresh!
  7. Make your pasta as normal and your noodles to your sauce pan to coat. Dish out, sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese, and ENJOY!
Notes
The pictures shown are made for a crowd, the recipe displayed should fit 4 healthy servings!
