Five Things // September 8th

Lifestyle

1. Canada Day Trip

I went up to Canada for the day to visit a close friend whom I haven’t been able to see for a while. The drive was beautiful and totally worth it. There is one section that is just forest with windy roads and I got to see my first glimpse of fall leaves. I got a little giddy but wasn’t able to snap a picture because I was driving and wanted to stay safe. Regardless, I got really excited. :] Once in Canada, we visited a few shops, caught up throughout, and had a wonderful late lunch/ early dinner over drinks.

2. My Planning Time

Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been trying to set aside time each Sunday (in this case Monday!) to setup my planner and do some goal setting. It really helps me stay focused during the week and not overwhelm myself with the tasks that need to be done! I always grab a coffee (#treatyoself), my fun pens & rulers, and get to work. This goal setting page is a bit new but I really wanted something I could fill in at the beginning of the month and keep it near throughout so I could stay on track of the other side of my business. I’m hoping this keeps me on track!

3. Cuba & Her Cousins

Cuba loves to play with other dogs. We have a small backyard that actually has Jonathan’s mom’s dogs and we have been nervous to let her play out there with them. Basically because of their size compared to her. Well we finally let her go back there (on leash at first) to say hello in person (they always look at each other in the window) and it went really well! She had so much fun that she was out of breath and passed out a few minutes after coming back in.

4. Place Value Prep & Available Now

Been working hard on creating more options of my Place Value Classroom Display Charts. With all this creating some the prep and taking photos of everything! This is a little behind the scenes of everything in action. Now available are 18 sets of Place Value Charts in every color of the rainbow in two background options! These were a life saver in the classroom for my students.

5. Dinner Times

I had some fun with dinners this week! We have been trying to get back into the groove of low carb living, so I made a huge batch of my Cauliflower Mashed “Potatoes”. Which worked perfectly with the steak & veggies, as well the Cuban chicken I made in the pressure cooker. We did cheat a little when we saw a recipe for Strawberry Shortcake on the Food Network, featuring home made biscuits. I’m hoping to get both recipes up soon!
